What are the eligibility requirements for opening an online bank account at Meus Bank?
- You must be at least 18 years of age
- You must have a U.S. address
- You must have a U.S. Social Security number or personal Tax ID number
All three requirements must be met. If a joint account is requested, then all applicants must meet all 3 requirements as well.
Can I open an account at a branch location?
In order to provide you with higher than average interest rates, you can only open an account with Meus Bank online.
What specific information do I need to apply for an account?
- Social Security number
- Physical U.S. address
- Date of Birth
- Unexpired government-issued identification (e.g. driver's license)
Can I apply for a joint account?
Yes. All information required for the primary owner is also required for a joint accountholder.
Can I open an online bank account with a beneficiary?
Yes. You will have an opportunity to name a beneficiary during the online banking application process.
How do I open a Meus Bank account?
Click on the Open Now button located on the web page for each account offered. Then simply follow the step-by-step instructions for opening your high yield online bank account. You'll be finished in less than 10 minutes.
How do I fund my new Meus Bank online account?
There are two ways to fund your new online account:
- Online: Funds are electronically transferred to your account via automated clearinghouse (ACH) from another bank that you specify.
- Check: If you select this option, you will be provided with a form to download and complete that you will send in with your check. Account opening may be delayed for up to 10 days due to mailing delays beyond our control.
How will I know when my new account is open?
You will receive a "Welcome Kit" from Meus Bank with your account number and initial login information. You will also receive a confirmation that the funds you requested have been deposited to your new online bank account.
Can I access my accounts at Meus Bank from any computer?
Yes. However, you will need to comply with our log on security procedures.
What is the Meus Bank Online Banking Agreement?
The Meus Bank Online Banking Agreement ('Agreement') describes the terms and conditions required for using the Meus Bank channel. All new users to Meus Bank are required to read and accept the Agreement before using the Meus Bank functionality. After your initial acceptance, each time you log in to Meus Bank you are consenting to the terms in the Online Banking Agreement.

How do I view my online account after it has been opened?
The easy instructions for logging into Meus Bank and for establishing passwords will be sent to you in the Welcome Kit.

How do I access my money?
All transactions are initiated during your online sessions. By selecting the "Funds Transfer" button, you can select an external account to transfer money to.
Access to the Health Savings Account is available by check or through the Health Savings Account Visa® Debit Card. Please keep in mind that all transactions made with the debit card and by check are reported as distributions.
You may also request your funds by submitting a written request to Meus Bank, PO Box 19050, Syracuse, NY 13209.
How do I make a deposit or transfer money to my online account?
Once you have set up any external bank accounts, you can make deposits by simply selecting the "Funds Transfer" button and selecting the account you wish to transfer money from.
You may also send deposits by check by mailing to Meus Bank, PO Box 19050, Syracuse, NY 13209. Deposits made by check may not be available for up to ten (10) days due to delays in mailing beyond our control.
When are deposits available for withdrawal?

What is the latest time I can schedule a transfer to occur the same day?
5:00pm Eastern Time.
Can I use a debit card or ATM card to access my account?
Funds in the Meus HSA also may be accessed via a Visa debit card or by check.
Can I send or receive wire transfers?
You may receive wire transfers by providing the sender our routing and transit number (021309735) and your account information. The sender should also note that Meus Bank is a division of Solvay Bank. Wire transfers out of the account are allowed; however, wire fees will apply. See Fee Schedule.
Can I set up Direct Deposit to the Meus Bank savings account?
Yes. Direct Deposits are set up directly through your employer or the Social Security Administration. Direct Deposits are a great way to ensure that you are maximizing earnings by guaranteeing a specific amount is regularly deposited to your high yield savings account.
Can I view my account history?
Yes, once you have logged in, click on the "Transactions" button to review up to 13 months of activity.
Can I view account activity at any time?
Yes. Meus Bank operates in a real-time environment giving you access to "up-to-the-minute" transactions.
How will I receive my account statements?
You will be notified via e-mail that your statement is available for online access. Your online account statements will be generated monthly.
How do I make an address or email change on my account?
Address changes can be made after logging in; click the "Change Address/E-Mail" button to send requests through a secure channel.
